Here's my new bowl!

His and Hers towels?? Paleeeze! His and Hers bowls are much more romantic! Especially since the way to a man's heart is through is stomach! Nobody ever heard of a man falling in love with a woman because of a bath towel.

I need a better hiding spot...

Apparently I need a better hiding spot. Mommy keeps finding me when it's bath time. (Then there's also the issue that even if I'm totally under the dresser and she can't see me, and she says "Kinzi..." I always, without fail, lean over, stick my head out and say "What?")

I also hid under here that day that the Colts took out all their best players and let the other team win. Oh my gosh...Mommy was NOT HAPPY. I guess Mommy doesn't have the "all that matters is the Superbowl" attitude...she wants to win every game. Winston...was there any screaming going on at your house? The game wasn't on TV here...so Mommy had to watch the tiny scores in the corner of the screen and cry as it got worse and worse. I noticed she was drowning her sorrows in peanut blossom cookies...but it doesn't seem to have solved the problem long term because today is Wednesday and she's still complaining about it.

As for dieting, Winston, I've been on one since August!!!!!!!!! You're a little late getting on board, buddy. Do you take any glucosomine supplements for your aching, old man bones? Mommy gives them to Quincy the beagle...and one of the old geezer cats here takes it and it's really made a world of difference. He doesn't walk around like an old man anymore. I take it, too...since I have a bad knee and all this extra weight isn't helping matters. Mommy just switched me to a liquid form and it's like having yummy brown gravy on my already delicious canned food...served to me in a fancy dish. I'm living the life of a rock star, baby! (aside from the whole stinky butt issue...)

Frannie had her dental yesterday. She did great. She didn't have to have any teeth pulled and Dr. Dickie said her teeth were just really stained and dirty. Now Frannie is driving Mommy crazy cuz she's not eating anything. All these gourmet foods being served to her and she's turning her nose up at all of them. I can't imagine anyone refusing to eat...have you ever heard of a cat refusing to eat for days and days and Mommy having to be all worried and losing sleep over it??? What? who...me??? Oh ya...I guess I was like that. Well...let's hope Frannie comes around and starts to eat. Maybe Mommy needs to buy her a special bowl of her own instead of making her borrow mine. Mommy....GO SHOPPING!

Welcome to the fat farm, Frannie!

Mommy pulled Frannie from the pound today. The ladies at the Wyandotte shelter have been taking care of her for 2 months. Her fur is a mess and she clearly hasn't been brushing and flossing regularly. She's living in my old apartment in the basement, next to the bunnies, until Mommy is sure she's eating well.

It's been a busy weekend around here. Kippie the beagle was adopted by the same AWESOME family that adopted Wishbone, the deaf beagle. Gerti, the calico, was adopted by a very nice older lady, the perfect home for a cat who's terrified of loud noises and fast movements. Her new mommy already sent us an email saying that Gerti isn't hiding and she's on her lap for lovies. Both of those girls hit the jackpot!

As for Christmas, I got some good healthy snacks, and Santa brought us this big round thing with a ball in it that is impossible to ever catch. Gadget and Herbie play with it, clearly they aren't bright enough to figure out that they'll never get the ball. I'm too smart for that! Nice try, Santa! You want me to get off my butt and exercise??? Maybe you should have delivered one of those machines that shoots tennis balls but has been rigged to throw food....cuz I'd get off my butt for that!

I'm back to getting daily baths...no fun...but I feel better. Mommy's getting pretty good at it so the torture only lasts about 3 minutes. I like that I get dried off with fresh towels that smell like fabric softener...so it's not all bad.

Hope Santa was good to all of you! He brought Mommy a new desk...so Daddy and Mommy need to rearrange the basement to make room for it. Then I'll have a nice new place to sit when I type my blog.

Forget this! I want cookies!

So I thought I would be helpful, in case Santa was watching, and give Mommy a hand with wrapping some gifties. I soon realized that just like with helping Daddy build my pen in the basement...that I can't because I don't have any thumbs. Mommy says I can't use scissors cuz I'm too young, I tried using the tape but, well...since I'm kinda furry I bet you can guess how that turned out. Then I had bows stuck all over me. (between you and me, I think Mommy did that on purpose!) I wanted to help with this shiny red stuff, and figured since I can't use scissors that I'd use my teeth. Mommy wasn't too thrilled about that. So I guess that leaves just one job for me...to sit here and look adorable!

Sing with me...

Frosty the Snowman
Was a jolly happy soul
He should be outside sitting in the snow
but look, he's my new bowl!

Yes...I have yet another new bowl. Rumor has it Mommy painted a new bowl for me at Pottery Creations on Friday, too!

Mommy baked cookies all day today. She says since the Lions/Cardinals game wasn't on that she couldn't sit and watch Kurt Warner on TV so she figured it was a good time to dive head first into the sugar and chocolate. I sure hope one of those cookies ends up in this snowman bowl! So far, all I've gotten are cat treats....but they don't have frosting or sprinkles or chocolate chips in them...so they absolutely do not count as Christmas cookies!

Just a few more days till Santa comes! I've been trying super hard not to make any messes on my blankie. Yesterday while Mommy and her friend, Jean, went to get another kitty to come stay here for a few days, those pesky beagles broke into my room and made an absolute mess out of things. Mommy brought Jean in to show her how nice my room is and it looked like a four legged, black and tan disaster had hit...and that's exactly what happened! I didn't hold back...I pointed fingers and named names cuz I want to make sure Santa knows it wasn't me! I don't want a lump of coal for Christmas! What the heck would I do with that? ...maybe throw it at beagles when they try to break into my room!!!

Aw man...I don't want to go to school today...

Oh wait! I don't have to...cuz I'm a kitty! But...Mommy still does have to go to work today...and she's dragging. She fed us all breakfast with her eyes closed so I hope everyone got the right medication in their food. I could be barking later today if I accidentally got the dogs medicine!

Why were we up so late??? Hmmm...I bet my pal, Winston, knows....and I bet my friend Linda's boss knows! THE COLTS WERE ON! The game didn't end till almost 11:30! It was a nail biter, for sure! Mommy is used to her team pretty much being in the lead the whole time but this year the games have been so close that you can't just say "ya...we got this one"...and go to bed at halftime. Holy Smokes...Mommy was a nervous wreck, yelling at the TV and clapping her hands and dancing around the living room. She says to stop making fun of her because it's exactly how the dogs and I act when it's meal time. I also heard Mommy say at one point ..."God Bless the NFL Network for all the close up shots of Dallas Clark."

So...I bet by now you're saying "Ok Kinzi...we know you were up late...but who is that handsome doggy with Santa??" Well, it's not a new foster doggy here, but he is a rescue dog. He was adopted down in Georgia by the daughter of Linda's boss...who, just happens to also be a crazy Colts fan, to, and the dogs name is Colt. Honestly...what's wrong with you people? Thank God I'm a girl or who knows what I'd have been named...Dallas? Peyton? Jeff? Joseph? I'm happy with Kinzi, thank you very much!

Anyway, I hope Colt has been a good boy and hasn't pottied on the floor in his new house cuz Santa is watching, buddy! I've been trying to be really good, but I had a little accident on the floor in the middle of the night last night so Mommy wasn't too thrilled about that. Oops!

Yeah Colts! Mommy...get your butt in the shower cuz you have to get to work! As for me...it's back to bed.

Does this tree skirt make me look fat?

I may be on a diet, but I'm no dummy! I know the Jolly old fat man in the red suit is just about ready to visit us...and that means that somewhere in this house there will be cookies! My odds of getting any that fall on the floor are slim to none, as there are beagles here who have noses that could detect a crumb if it was on the moon. In order for me to get any cookies, I'll have to have a plan.

As of right now...I don't really have a plan. It's not a big deal cuz Mommy hasn't even made any cookies yet...but I want to be ready! I'm thinking I need the other cats to create a distraction. Maybe Emily could start a fight with Gerti...or Gadget could fall off something and make a big THUD that sends everyone running...and if, at that exact moment, a cookie fell on the floor, then I just might have a chance to get it. Timing is everything with this plan, and since the other cats don't pay any attention to me, it's not likely I'll be able to get them on board with the idea.

I guess then I'll have to go with Plan B: "Dear Santa, ...please bring me some cookies..."

Kinzi

Uh oh... do you think that pooping on your blankie gets you on the naughty list??? I may need a Plan C!

You've Got Mail!

Well..actually...no you don't...but I DO! My friend, Linda, that I met at the event in Wyandotte, wrote me a letter!!!! How often do cats get mail? Mommy says all she only gets bills in the mail...so I should be super excited that I got a letter AND a donation just for me!!!

Thank you, Linda!!!

XOXO,

I got ANOTHER new bowl!

Boy oh boy! I get so many new bowls that you'd think I was having a bridal shower! Herbie hasn't even popped the question yet.

Mommy got me this one at Flower Child Herbs in Riverview. They sell all sorts of homemade soaps and teas and stuff there. They have the BEST catnip toys, too! This bowl is supposed to be a flower, but Mommy says it's my breakfast bowl cuz it kind of looks like an egg.

Tomorrow at the Allen Park Petco you can get your pets photo taken with Santa. Mommy will be there helping. I don't get to go to this event...but I think Gadget is going...and Mommy says if Kippie doesn't stop scratching at her wound then she's going to have to go, too, so Mommy can keep an eye on her. She had to wear a doggy sweater for a while today but she kept getting her legs out of it and then she'd sit there, not knowing what to do cuz her legs were stuck inside the sweater. Once again, I have to say...a CAT would never be caught in such a humiliating situation. ...ok OK...I confess...today I went to the vet and Dr. Dickie tortured me again in a way that was VERY humiliating. Now Mommy has medicated wipes to use on me every day. I swear...when it's time for me to find a new family...I'm going to demand a home inspection to make sure there are no needles, creams, baby wipes, or other instruments of torture!

My friend is back home!

Kippie made it to the vet this morning, with a little help from Mommy's friend, Brenda, who came to get her so Mommy wouldn't have to be super late for work today. (Thank you, Brenda!!) The surgery was this morning and Kippie made it through with no problems. They had to take some extra precautions because of her kidney issues, but everything is fine. She was VERY happy to see Mommy when it was time to go home. The stitches come out on Christmas eve, so she'll be ready for a new home in case Santa wants to pick her up that day.

I don't want to start any rumors or anything...but I heard that the other dog that used to live here, Wishbone, had the same surgery in the same location for the same kind of tumor, and he was a big sissy who cried all night. Guess that just goes to show ya that girls are tougher! (although I have been known to scream a little myself when Mommy has to scrub my bottom)

I also heard it from a little birdie that today is Shelley's birthday. The little birdie even told me how old she is! (the NERVE!) But don't you worry, Shelley...cuz I sat on him! He won't be tellin' nobody nuffin' no more!

Big day tomorrow!

Kippie the beagle is going for her surgery to get her two tumors removed. She's not allowed to eat anything after 7pm tonight so that means some crabby beagles around here tonight...no bedtime snacks! I hope I still get MINE!

Mommy has been cat shopping two times this week and came home empty handed both times. Apparently she just can't make up her mind who to bring home. I know she likes Athena cuz she has a cute face just like me...but Stella and Edith have both been at the shelter forEVER...and then there's Frannie...a senior chubster who needs a dental. I'm glad I don't have to make the choice...but then again...I heard there are two big boys there named Hamish and Holden...I'd probably go for them!!! Maybe Herbie would get jealous!

It's cold and windy and I'm going to curl up under a blankie for the rest of the night! I'll let you all know how Kippie's doing after she gets home tomorrow night.

Go Go Gadget Goofball!

This is a picture of Gadget. He's on top of a six foot tall cabinet, pushing on the ceiling tiles and rubbing across the top of the cabinet. We aren't sure what the heck he was doing...but mom thanked him for dusting off the top of the cabinet. Seconds after this picture was taken, he pushed himself right off and went PLOP on the floor.

Today has been another card making day, although Mommy's beloved Colts are on so she's not getting much done. She better get cracking!!! It's almost time for Santa to come! I had written my letter to Santa, but Mommy wouldn't mail it for me because all I asked for was food. I know humans get to pig out for the holidays...how come I can't?!?!?!?!? NO FAIR!

Autumn is gone...bring on winter!

Ding, Dong, the Witch is gone... Ok, so she was not exactly a witch...she was a super sweet snuggly kitty that everyone loved....but I don't need the competition so I'm glad I have Herbie all to myself again...not that he actually pays any attention to me. Autumn (who's real name was Zoe) went home to a great family with 2 little boys so she'll get TONS of snuggle time! The family was in love with Herbie, too...and I saw how happy he was when they were here playing with him. It would have been a great home for Herbie, too. But...I'm not sad he's still here!

Welcome to the Cat Cave!

Things are going great now that I live upstairs. Look at this nice, soft carpet I get to lay on all day. Soooooooooo much better than the basement floor! So...it's nice and warm...and soft...and the sun shines in the 2 windows in my room...and I have a nice new roommate (that I'll introduce you to later)...life is good, right?

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!

There is a MONSTER living on this floor of the house!! I'm not kidding! It's yellow...and sooooooooooo loud...and it sucks up everything in it's path! I moved my bootie as fast as I could to hide under Mommy's bed because the monster doesn't go under there...but I was so worried because I forgot to bring my prized possessions, my catnip toys. I just know the big yellow monster is going to suck them up! I see Mommy beating the monster sometimes...she rips it's stomach out and empties it in the trash...but then, instead of killing the monster, she puts it back together and lets it go on eating up everything in it's path! How could Mommy be friends with such a beast? I just don't understand... What if it sucks up my darling Herbie?!? He's kind of small...I'm worried for his safety!

Cross EVERYTHING!!!

Autumn, that cute little number that I thought was hitting on my Darling Herbie, has a date tomorrow with a family who might adopt her! She's sweet...but I don't need the competition...let's just move her cute little behind right on outta here...

Then Mommy can go kitty shopping and bring us home a new friend! There's all these cats listed on Petfinder...we never know which one Mommy is going to come home with. Will it be the fat one, the sick one, the cute one, the old one...the one that's been there the longest...the one that's missing a tail??? The suspense is killing me!

Kinzi

P.S....hold your applause...but I haven't pooped myself since yesterday. Mommy moved me upstairs to the spare room where it's alot warmer than in the basement...thinking maybe the cold basement is what's giving me trouble. So far, so good...but there's carpet everywhere in my new room so I know I'm going to get in big trouble if I mess it up in there. Getting thrown in the washing machine will be the least of my problems! ...anyone got the number for Stanley Steamer in case I need it???

Tuesday, December 1, 2009

Oh boy...here we go again...

My sweetie, Herbie, has a new best friend. He's had alot of friends this year...and they have all been adopted but he's still here. He gets along with everyone, so it's easy for him to make friends when Mommy brings home a new cat. Now his new buddy is Gadget. I wonder how long before Gadget gets adopted and Herbie is sad again. I sure wish Herbie would snuggle with me like that, but let's face facts...my big ol' behind isn't gonna fit in that bed...and if you did get me in there, you'd need the jaws of life to get me out.

We had a break from making cards tonight. After Mommy got done cleaning up all the cat puke that was on the table, she said she lost her motivation. Thank goodness none of it got on all the stamps we made and colored last night...that might have driven Mommy to drink! Mommy says she's having a mental block. She can't figure out how to do the cards. I told her I'm ready to do my part and slap my inky paw on 'em when she's done, but I can't do that till she figures out what she's going to do with them.

Oh ya...I'm a mess again and as soon as I'm done writing this I have to have another stupid bath. It's just me and Mommy tonight so it will be interesting to see which one of us is wetter when we're done! Dr. Dickie says some of her patients with arthritis are having problems since the weather got colder, but she's not sure if that's why I'm doing so poorly or not. So...my meds are getting raised again...this time to 7.5 mg. Mommy says if I don't stop pooping on myself she's going to start throwing me in the washing machine with my poopy blankie. I know she's just kidding....right? Isn't there something in the Shelter to Home foster agreement that says you can't launder your foster cats??? Rhonda?? Lori?? Brenda?? Shelley?? Jean...someone??? If you come over here and I'm smelling like Downy...I want a full investigation!!!

Boy do my paws hurt!

Mommy has decided that we're making hand-made Christmas cards this year. So the entire basement is now taken up by a table covered with all her crafty junk....stamps, pencils, paper, markers...what a mess!

She told me I had to help but it's the same old story as before...I don't have any thumbs...and it's hard to hold a marker without thumbs! I can dip my paw into paint and slap it on some paper, but apparently that's not what she has in mind.

I may be cute, but I'm not crafty! The next time I go see Dr. Dickie, I wouldn't be surprised if I have glitter stuck between my toes and a little foil christmas tree stuck somewhere I can't even reach!

Happy Birthday!!

Remember Mommy's friend Nathan?? He's the one who has a lemonade addiction...and also had the horrible stinky feet that one time he helped Mommy torture me with a bath. Anyway...today is his birthday and for his birthday, he adopted one of their foster cats. Her name is Selena. As you can see from the picture, it seems that she's already done a little too much celebrating.

Hurray for Selena for being able to make her foster home fall madly in love with her. We knew what was coming anyway...cuz every time Nathan and Mommy went to Pottery creations, Nathan painted something with Selena's name on it.

Gotta go...the Colts are on today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Dallas!!!!!

Kinzi

P.S...Nathan...I want some cake!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

We aren't having dinner until later...so I wanted to post now instead of later because you never know how things might turn out after Herbie comes over for dinner. I may be too busy later to write to you...wink wink!

Today I am thankful for many things:

My Mommy who takes good care of me.

Shelter to Home for supporting Mommy in her efforts to take care of me.

All of the people who have helped by giving donations towards my care.

Mommy's friends who came to help give me baths. I know I complained about all of them...but I know it was for the best.

All of the people who read my blog and write to me.

...and last but not least, I'm thankful for the person who invented fabric softener because there's nothing better than a soft, smelly blankie.

Mommy wanted me to post a picture of a turkey today, in honor of the 46 million unfortunate turkeys who ended up on someones dinner table today. This is a turkey named Hawthorne who lives at a place called Farm Sanctuary where farm animals are safe. Now I feel kind of bad that I'm having turkey later...but...I'm a cat...and meat is my natural food and that's why Mommy agrees to feed it to me.

Have a good day everyone...and remember...now that Thanksgiving is over, it's time to start thinking about Christmas...and to behave because Santa is watching!!!

Dear Winston...

Mommy got the package that your mommy sent to her. I think maybe she thought there was a million dollars in there cuz of the way she tore into it like there was no tomorrow. Good Lord...I don't even get that excited over a new catnip toy. Anyway...she LOVES the calendar and can't wait to bore us all to death with Colt's Trivia. We already celebrate Peyton's birthday...I wonder what other days will become holidays around here after she opens it and starts reading.

Mommy is still looking in the bottom of the package because she was certain that you were going to send her Dallas Clark (pictured above for those of you who aren't Colts fans). I've heard of a Jack in the Box...but not a Dallas in the Box. She does agree that the team needs him until after the Super Bowl, tho... but still...I catch her looking in there from time to time. She's so pathetic. You should have heard her screaming last week when he caught that TD pass with one hand. That made her even happier than when Tom Brady went home crying! Daddy doesn't even care...he's just happy he married a girl who loves to watch football. I'm happy that Mommy married a guy who knows how to build beagle proof kitty pens!

Tomorrow is the big day...when I'm inviting Herbie over for dinner! I hope your mommy and daddy let you have some good food tomorrow.

Thanks again for sending Mommy a present!

Umph murph thursmf...

Sorry...Mommy told me I shouldn't talk with my mouth full. I got wisked away to the vet without my dinner...so I was very hungry when I got home. Dr. Dickie tried to give me some treats but I didn't want any part of that...I held out for my gourmet dead cow dinner served on my very own fancy plate Mommy bought for me from some pottery maker at a craft show. No way would I eat crunchy treats off the floor...sheesh! It's Dr. Dickie's fault, really....I mean she is the one that told Mommy to feed me really good quality canned food. I can't help it that I now have very high standards! And I know Mommy loves me because she's a vegetarian and gets grossed out cracking open the cans of meaty food for me. Thank you, Mommy!

As for the trip to see Dr. Dickie...aside from the whole treats on the floor incident...it was a good visit! No needles...no foreign objects shoved where they don't belong...no torture of any kind on this visit. Mommy was worried that I'm still not walking much even after losing 20% of my weight...but when you think about it...I still have a long way to go. If you take a human that weighs 500 pounds, and they lose 20% of their weight...they still weigh 400 pounds. They have a long way to go before they audition for Dancing With The Stars! So, I have a long way to go before I'm dancing with my Herbie.

I'm back on prednisone...going with 5mg a day indefinitely. Mommy says she's happy with the dosage as long as it keeps my bottom nice and dry. I'd have to say I'm happy, too, when my blankie smells more like Downy than a diaper. At least me and Mom are on the same page on that one!

Only 2 days till Thanksgiving. If you're a turkey....RUNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow is the big day!

I get to go see Dr. Dickie. I'm happy to report that since Mommy put me back on the high dose of my medication that I am doing better. My bottom is still a little sore but it should be healed up soon. I'll give you a full report tomorrow on what the doctor says!

Kinzi

PS...only 3 more days till I can eat my Thanksgiving dinner!! I'm going to invite Herbie over to share it with me. You know what they say...the way to a man's heart is through his stomach!

What a day!

So today was the big event at the Wyandotte city hall. Thank you to everyone who came to see me. PPPBBBLLLLTTTT!!!!! ...to those of you who pointed at me and said "OMG that's a fat cat!" You're lucky my sweetie, Herbie, didn't bend open the bars of his crate and beat you to a pulp with his tiny, declawed, paws!
I got to see Sandy, who writes to me almost every day. She's such a nice lady. Today was a good day for her because her favorite kitty from the shelter got adopted! Everyone clapped and cheered. (Mommy was cheering the whole time we were there because Daddy was sending her text updates on the OSU/Michigan game. Mommy likes OSU so she was very happy! She actually DVR'd the game and is watching it right now...she said something about how it's always fun to watch Michigan lose...even if it's not live.) It was a good day for me, too....cuz Herbie came back home with us.
A very nice lady named Linda came just to see me! She gave Mommy a donation and Mommy used it to buy me this big pile of food! If you look closely...I even got a special one called Thanksgiving Dinner! I can't wait to eat it! On Thursday, when I'm thinking of all the things I'm thankful for, I'm going to be especially thankful for people like Linda who are helping me.
Oh...and a bit of bad news...I kind of had a setback. Mommy had weaned me off the prednisone last week and now I'm having troubles again. So, I'm back on 10mg of prednisone a day and I have to go see Dr. Dickie on Tuesday. I don't mind the meds cuz Mommy hides them in my food and I don't even know they are there. I just hate that my bottom is sore again and Mommy has to wipe me to keep me clean. It's soooooooooooo embarrassing.
It's been a long day...I'm going to bed. Mommy says I get to sleep in the living room tonight!
Good night everyone...Thanks again, Linda! My tummy appreciates your generosity!

Call the Paparazzi!

There's going to be a public Kinzi sighting this Saturday! That's right...you'll be able to see ME...in person!! So few people are lucky enough to have this privilege...you really should take advantage of it while you can!

I'll be at the "Love Me Because..." event being held at the Wyandotte City Hall. It's on Saturday, right after the Wyandotte Christmas Parade. So come on down and get in the mood for Christmas...then come to the City Hall basement for some cookies and hot cocoa...and to meet alot of animals who, for some reason or another, are having a hard time finding a forever home. My sweetie, Herbie, will be there, too! There will be alot of animals there that need homes so please tell your friends, family, and co-workers about the event! We need to get some of these fur-babies a home for the holidays! Most of them feel like they're on the Island of Misfit Toys...please give them hope that there is a home for everyone!

And...for a $1 donation you can rub my bigger than Buddha sized belly and make a wish! ;o)

Hope to see you!

Pretty kitty!!

Look how skinny and beautiful I am!!

Did I fool any of you? That's not really me in the picture. I hired a body double. Since I can't be airbrushed for my photos like the super models do, I thought I'd get the new foster, Gadget, to stand in for me. He is quite handsome, tho...isn't he? Poor guy is afraid of the dogs here, but he's slowly realizing they don't want to use him for a chew toy. He came into my pen today to visit me but none of the pictures turned out nice.

My weekend wasn't very exciting. Mommy and Kim spent alot of time shopping, although I got some treats and new rugs for my house out of the deal, so I guess it's worth it. I also had to have a bath...phooey! Ohhh...and this nice lady named Patti, that Mommy buys Avon from, dropped off 2 bags of blankets and towels. I already have a nice soft blankie on my bed for today. Thanks Patti!

How exciting!!

Mommy says we're having company for the weekend...her friend, Kim. I've never met her...I wonder if she'll like me. Mommy says she has allergies, so I guess that means I'm not getting any special snuggies from her. Darn.

My poor Herbie...

Another one of his friends was adopted today. Louie was only here for a month and he got a new home...poor Herbie has been here since March. Mommy is in love with him as much as I am...so trust me, nobody is complaining that Herbie keeps getting overlooked. Mom already replaced Louie with TWO new cats from the Wyandotte shelter. Last week she brought home a cute little number named Autumn. Word on the street is that she is after my Herbie...but one of the dogs told me that I don't have anything to worry about. She is very pretty tho...so I've agreed to put a cute picture of her on my blog...but that's it...that's where I draw the line at being nice! The other newbie is a big, chubby tuxedo cat named Gadget. He had been at the pound for FIVE months!!! I was there one day and it was too much...I can't imagine being there that long with no sofa to lay on, no sun coming in the window to re-charge my solar battery....no television! EEEKKK! I saw Gadget once and he looks alot like me...so, naturally, he's quite handsome. He's a little freaked out about being here so Mommy doesn't have any decent pictures of him yet...but it won't take long.

Oh Mickey, you have so much to learn...

I'm disturbed by your comment that your "master" makes such good lemonade. At least someone is making your lemonade FOR you...you're on the right track there...but...and this but is even bigger than MY butt... listen up, my friend...cuz I'm only going to tell you once.... As an animal...we do not have masters, we have servants. The quality of our lives is based entirely on our ability to train our humans to do what we want them to do.

Do you think I'm really a slob? Noooooooooo....I lay here like a lump because by doing so I get my meals served to me in fancy bowls, some of which Mommy painted just for me at the pottery place. By occasionally missing the litterbox, I get my butt massaged with these little moist cloths that smell soooooooo good. My adoring Mommy feels so sorry for me that she massages me daily and tells me how pretty I am. None of the other cats around here who are taking care of themselves get that kind of service. (Well...Herbie knows a few tricks, and he's got Mommy catering to his every need, too!...it's quite pathetic).

So anyway, Mickster...since you're a dog, let's use another example. Dogs act badly. What's the punishment for behaving badly? Obedience class! So really, let's see how "bad" this really is for a dog. What do you get...? A ride in the car to the class. What dog doesn't love a ride in the car? Next...you get to meet and talk to some other dogs. That's not so bad. Then...just for doing a few stupid sit/stay tricks...you get fed all sorts of snacks and treats and get told what a good doggy you are in front of an audience. Then you get another ride in the car! Bonus!

Cats are too sophisticated to do tricks for snacks. I live with beagles, so out of pity for all the times my snacks get stolen, Mommy places my treats right in front of my nose and then she stands guard until I'm done so I don't get robbed.

I hope you've taken notes, Mickey...and will stop referring to your people as your masters. A Master is a degree you get in college, or a brand of lock you buy to keep the beagles out of your house, not the human you have trained to take care of you...which, in your case, is a teenager with smelly toes.

Feel free to contact me at any time for additional support. You know where to find me...right here, in my house, perched up on my super squishy, ultra fluffy bed that my servant made for me.

XOXO

When life hands you lemons....

You invite Mommy's friend, Nathan over to make lemonade!! Nathan...you have to bring your own spoon to stir it with because, well...I can't use my paw. As Mommy would say..."Do you know where that foot has been?!?!" Bring sugar, too!!!

Ummm....a little help, please....

I seem to have fallen out of bed again...and of course Mommy was right there with the camera to capture my moment of shame. One of these days I'm going to sit on that camera!

Maybe I need one of those toddler beds that's shaped like a race car. Vrooom Vrooom!! I'm sure Herbie would notice me if I had a hot rod of LOVE! I don't want one of those stupid pink Barbie cars, either...I want a REAL sports car! I hear Mommy always talking about how badly she needs a Dodge Challenger or Charger to cure her mid-life crisis. Do they make a bed that looks like one of those??

Hey there Sandy/Fluff...

Mommy says she ran into you at the Wyandotte pound today. She said you were scurrying around like a busy beaver cleaning litterboxes and snuggling with the homeless kitties. I can't believe she didn't come home with another foster cat...I guess there's another really big kitty there named Frannie that could stand a few months on my diet plan. I know the wheels in Mommy's head are turning...trying to figure out how she can fit her in over here. She's also broken hearted over the little boy in the sick room who's sooooooooooo skinny and has the horrible eye infection. He's tiny...I know we could squeeze him in somewhere, but Mommy is worried that she's busy taking care of me and Kippie, the beagle...that maybe she doesn't have the time to take care of someone that sick. Hopefully SOMEONE will foster him and get him the care he needs.

You had asked about my sweetie, Herbie. I'm sad to say that I think he's more interested in playing with Louie than me. Kippie the beagle hangs out with me more than anybody else.

Hope to see you soon! In the meantime, I'm sticking to my diet...as if I have a choice since I can't operate the can opener by myself...and doing my best to be a good kitty!

Ok tell the truth....

How many of you ate too much candy and have tummy aches today?? NOT ME! I wasn't allowed to have any candy, so I feel fine. I have recovered from the humiliation that came with the bee suit...trying to block it from my memory.

Mommy says that something called "turkey day" is coming. What is that? How does a big, ugly bird get their own day??? Why can't I have my own day??? Mom also mentioned something about how she and Daddy don't eat turkeys...they're vegetarians. I know I'm not one of those cuz my food is way too tasty to be made out of tofu. That might explain why Mommy often holds her breath, makes funny faces, and avoids having her fingers ever touch my food. I just thought she was weird.

Oh well... it's Sunday night...time for snuggling on a blankie on Mommy's lap and watching some TV.

What the #%&*@!*&^#(%&)!!??

Just when I thought it was safe to get out of bed on Halloween...Mommy does this to me. She found a clearance rack at another store...and while a suggestion had been made that I should dress up like a Princess....Mommy says that being a Queen is more fitting...I just didn't think Queen BEE was really what was intended. If I was really queen for a day...this kind of foolishness would NOT BE HAPPENING!
Where's my dang gummy rats? *sigh*

A big thank you...

To all of the people who bought up all the cat sized pumpkin costumes from the pet store so there wouldn't be one left for Mommy to buy. How could my beloved Herbie ever have any respect for me if I'm dressed up like a dork?!?!? I just hope Mommy doesn't come up with any other bright ideas before Saturday. At least I know I won't be hauled out to the front porch for the ritual of passing out candy. Mommy doesn't give out candy. Oh don't get me wrong...she BUYS Halloween candy...it just never makes it out the front door and into the baskets of little trick or treaters. She says candy is for grown ups...just like wine. I had put in a request for gummy rats and Swedish fish, but Mommy says they aren't really rats or fish and that I can't have any or they'll ruin my teeth. WHATEVER!

The fact that she doesn't pass out candy may also have something to do with the sign on the front door that says "Pets welcome, children must be kept on a leash..."

Kinzi
P.S...Mommy's shoulder isn't totally mangled...it's just a strained tendon. She's doped up on steroids for the weekend and the entire house reaks like menthol rub. I'm glad it's nothing serious...I was worried about how she'd be able to open my cans of food or carry me up and down stairs if her arm wasn't working.

Someone has been a baaaad kitty!

And this time, it's not ME! There's a foster cat here named Louie...I believe many of you know him as Louie Armstrong from when he was at the Wyandotte pound. Well...apparently he likes to sneak outside like a dog. Mommy even had to lock the doggy door so NOBODY gets to benefit from it anymore because Louie figured out how to get out. Last night, around 3am...the dogs were up for a potty break. Mommy was holding the door open so they could get out and Louie flew past her. She reached for him as fast as she could, leaned too far, fell, crashed into the gate, and screwed up her shoulder. I heard her say something about having to go to the doctor who did her shoulder surgery a few years ago to see how bad it is. That doesn't sound too good!

The funny part of this story is that Louie is pretty much soaking wet all the time because Mommy squirts him with water if he even looks at the back door. tee hee

Mommy says she's not pulling anymore brown and white tabby cats because the last cat she had that looked like Louie was also one that tried to get outside all the time. She should just keep pulling wonderful black and white cats like me and my sweetie, Herbie! I can't fit through the doggy door...and Herbie is so glued to Mommy's lap that I know he'll never run away. Mommy says he's a Velcro-Kitty.

Another lazy Sunday...

Well, it was a lazy Sunday for me...since all I do is lay around anyway. Mommy worked her butt off outside. She had to winterize the pond, whatever that means. I feel sorry for those fishies who have to spend all winter out there instead of in the house on a warm, toasty, blankie...although I guess fish wouldn't really have much use for a warm blankie, would they?

Cooper went home. He is blind, so he spent alot of time bumping into me over the weekend cuz he couldn't see me. I was nice to him tho, and even shared my dinner with him tonight before he went home. Guess he likes turkey, too! Mommy didn't take any good pictures of him so I'll post an older one of him...it's Mom's favorite picture of him from when she fostered him. It's actually the picture that was printed in the News Herald and how his new Mommy found him! The News Herald sure is great about spreading the word for homeless animals, aren't they!?

There weren't any good football games today, so we all watched some movies instead.

Have a good week, everybody!

It's the weekend!

I learned a new trick this week! I learned that when all the food is on the other side of my bowl and I can't reach it...I can stick my paw in it and then lick the food off my paw like a foot lollipop. Mommy's been yelling at me...saying stuff like "Do you know where that foot has been???" but I just say "ummm ya...right here on the end of my leg...where it should be!" Mommy is so crazy sometimes. I mean seriously...where is my foot going to go?

I saw Alvin the bunny attack one of the beagles today for going into his pen. Funny stuff! The dog yelped and took off running! I should video tape that and then sell it to the National Enquirer or something. The beagles around here should hide in shame that a bunny can rough them up like that. I guess that 2 years ago Mommy submitted a photo of one of the beagles using a foster rabbit for a pillow and it got published in a book! How embarrassing. A cat would never allow something like that to happen.

Oh...and I hear that Cooper, the little blind dog that lived here before he was adopted, is coming to visit us tomorrow. Maybe I can get a good picture of him to share with you. He's a silly little doggy.

I see how it is...

You all claim to be my adoring fans...but when I ask for a few bucks so I can get a tummy tuck, everyone looks the other way. Fine...be that way! Bikini season is a long way off, anyway...I can do it on my own in plenty of time. I've figured out a way to make money by myself! I'm going to collect the little tumbleweeds of bunny fur that roll out of Alvin and Lehana's pen and make Christmas ornaments out of them. Now I KNOW all of you will be placing your orders for those!!! I may have to get Jessica to quit doing clay and come over here to help me roll up furballs if the demand is too much for me to keep up.

As for the new dog, Kippie...she's going through the same kind of abuse, er, I mean TLC that I did when I first got here. Mom's been digging in her ear and pulling out buckets of brown goo, and shoving pills down her throat, putting drops in the bad ear, and scolding her alot for chewing on herself. I thought I was safe and the focus was off me...but no such luck. Mom already worked me over with a baby wipe earlier cuz I went potty and made a little mess. I think maybe Mommy has eyes on the back of her head...cuz I can't figure out how she knows what I'm doing when she has a new dog to keep track of. Maybe these bunnies are telling on me. If they keep that up, forget the tumbleweeds...I'll just go in their pen and pluck the furballs right off of them! That will teach them to rat me out! Gosh...I hope nobody from the bunny rescue is reading my blog....

So far, so good!

The new foster beagle has arrived. So far she hasn't tried to steal my dinner. She did come into my luxury kitty condo and check things out...but I whacked her across the snout to let her know who's boss around here and that seems to have done the trick. She seems like a very nice dog. I heard Mommy say that she's going to need surgery to remove some tumors. You can see the big one on her right shoulder in the picture...it's big like a softball. I'm so lucky I don't have THAT problem...although I could use a tummy tuck! So everyone make donations to my fund so I can get a little thigh reduction over the weekend!

This is a full color blog, not just black and white

Mommy says she's noticed that I only feature black and white animals on my blog...Herbie, Alvin the bunny, and most recently, Pirate...we're all the same color! She wants me to show someone who's not black and white. Cats do come in all sorts of colors...so it won't be too hard to do.

Mom requested that I introduce a friend of hers as my first non-black and white kitty. (It was before my time so I've never met him.) He stayed here for a while before going to another foster home. His name is Denver. Mommy was head over heels in love with him because he was so snuggly and cute. Rumor has it that the other cats here hid from him because the cats here are older and don't like to play rough. Denver likes to chase and wrestle when he is playing so he needs kitty friends who also like to play like that. Mommy was sad to see him go...but there was a standing ovation from the other cats here when he left. So if you know anyone who needs a super playful cat, tell them about Denver! He's even got extra toes on his feet which is supposed to bring good luck. It hasn't been good luck for Denver so far...he still doesn't have a forever family! You can see him on Petfinder: http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=13823366

WHEW...I made it back from the vet in one piece...

I'm so traumatized!! There were needles...and fingers stuck up places where fingers don't belong...it was humiliating. As if all that isn't bad enough, there are 2 long hair white cats at St. Julian's that need a new home. Their names are Cookies and Toe Jam. I heard someone say cookies so I got up and walked quite a ways to see if I could find the cookies...only to discover it's a white cat...and not only did he not actually HAVE any cookies to give to me...he hissed at me. (how rude!) Later on when Dr. Dickie tried to give me a real cookie, I was so upset I couldn't even eat it!

Dr. Dickie says my left knee is still a little swollen..and that one of my anal glands was super full so maybe that explains my potty problems. The Prednisone is still being kept at the higher amount for 10 days. I was able to get my rabies vaccine tho...which is great. I've been really worried about rabid squirrels breaking into the house and attacking me! (HEY!~it could happen! Don't you laugh at me...)

I was so happy to get out of there!!!!!! But then Mommy didn't go straight home...she went to a pet store to buy me more cat food. (I'm OK with that!) Then we made another stop at the Wyandotte Shelter. Some of the ladies came out to the car to visit me...that was nice! Mommy went in to visit a dog that I think is going to come live with us soon. She's got a tumor and a horrible rash on her rump and nobody wants to adopt her. Mommy will bring her here and get her all fixed up, just like me!! I tried to voice a complaint because the dog is a beagle...so I'm going to have to really make sure my food doesn't get stolen. Thank goodness Daddy built me the doggy proof pen in the basement.

I'm happy to be home now. A lovely Saturday at home with Mommy and all my friends around me. If Mommy really loves me, she'll turn on the space heater so I can have a good, toasty nap.

It's FRIIIIIIIDDDDDDDDAAAAAYYYYY!

Happy Friday, everyone! Hurray to all of you who are happy the weekend is here. As for me...the weekend means trips to the vet so I've got nothing to be happy about. Well, I'm usually happy that Mommy is home alot on the weekends so I get alot more time out of my pen to roll around on the floor...but I just don't want to go to the vet!
Hey, see this picture? This is another kitty that just got rescued from the Wyandotte Shelter. Her foster mom named her Pirate. (Based on her picture, it looks like she's not a big fan of the vet, either!) She was brought to the shelter by her owners who didn't want her anymore. She had a horrible eye infection and they didn't want to deal with it. I hear through the grapevine that the odor from the infection was NASTY! Anyway...the fabulous folks at the Wyandotte Shelter took her right to the vet and had the eye removed. That's right...I said removed! They got rid of all the infection and because it's black over that eye, you can hardly even tell. The wound has healed perfectly and now this little kitten is ready to LOOK to the future. She'll be waiting to SEE her forever family coming to get her! You can read more about her and see more pictures on her Petfinder listing: http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=14863691
I hope to write to you tomorrow...if I survive the trip to the vet.

DRAT...I'm in trouble again!

Mommy talked to Dr. Dickie and ratted me out again. I've not been walking much lately, had some potty accidents, and haven't been finishing my meals. Now my medication is increased and I think I have to go to the vet on Saturday! Seriously!? Things were going so well! No needles...no gross things shoved down my throat (or UP somewhere else)...and now I have to ruin my Saturday morning by getting dragged to the vet.

Mommy watches this movie called PS I Love You EVERY time it's on. She's watched it twice in the last week and it's on again right now!! My only hope for getting out of going to the vet is maybe it's on TV Saturday morning. I'll have to figure out how to get the remote, turn it to that channel...and get her so engrossed in watching that dreamy Gerard Butler that she totally forgets to stuff me in the car and go to the vet. Wish me luck!

Dear Winston...

As you suspected...things got a little crazy here the other night when Peyton and Dallas were doing their thing! Mommy even forced me to take this picture with all this junk. Not a single thing in this pile is edible or made of catnip. And don't think for a minute that Mommy wasn't thinking about cramming my head into that helmet...I could hear the wheels in her head turning! Thank goodness she decided against it. I'd like to have seen her explaining that mess to the people at the emergency vet who would have had to break out the jaws of life to get it off of me. I did notice it has a big orange warning label on it. I can't read very well, but I'm pretty sure it says on there NOT to put this helmet on your cat! (...although perhaps it would have come in handy back when I wasn't walking and I kept rolling out of bed and crashing into the dog).
Is it this bad at your house, too???

Here's a movie of me walking...sort of...

As you can see, I don't get around too well. I don't walk any further than I have to...and really only get up if food is involved or I have to go potty. I have a very long way to go before I'm going to be well enough to be adopted by a new family. (...and of course, the pesky beagle had to make a cameo appearance in my movie!)

It's cleaning day!

Apparently Mommy woke up today with the urge to clean. She's been in the bedroom moving furniture, going through the closet, throwing out old shoes and vacuuming everything. She said there was enough fur under the bed to equal 10 cats! I went under the bed once and I didn't see anybody under there.

Anyway...I'm going back to my favorite spot behind the big chair in the living room. I can get a nap in before the football game starts.

That's about it for excitement around here...other than one of the other foster cats, Binky, is being adopted today. Mom says it's killing her because he's being extra snuggly. I know she'll miss him...but he's getting a good home and with him gone...it's more lap time for ME!

My 15 minutes of fame have come and gone!

As many of you are aware, there was a HUGE article about me in yesterdays News Herald. Here's the link if anyone missed it: http://www.thenewsherald.com/articles/2009/10/07/life/doc4ac9fcac4b010890028144.txt

Mommy says she wishes she had $1 for every time someone has asked her what's wrong with her leg. I wish she had the money, too...cuz I could get more toys!

Today I got a special gift. Mommy had ordered a special litterbox for me that's made for dogs. It's really big and has low sides so I can get in and out easily. I just broke it in and of course, Mommy was right there with the camera! I begged and pleaded with her and she agreed to not post the picture on the blog when I'm not looking. It's bad enough that pictures of me getting a bath are plastered all over the internet...I don't think the world really needs to see me going potty.

I gotta go...there's a pesky beagle making a nesty bed with my blankie! I need a Brink's home alarm system on my pen!

I've been sculpted like a Greek Goddess!!!

Mommy's friend, Jessica, makes polymer clay figures. Look at this one she made of me. It looks just like me! She even turned my left paw inwards...something I like to do. Jessica is from Taylor, Michigan. She makes alot of different animals and figures and sells them in a few stores. She does custom orders, so anyone who would like a figure of their own pet can contact her. Depending on what you want, the figures usually start around $15. What a bargain! Mommy has bought tons of them over the years. She can do just about anything...her giraffes are Mommy's favorite. She can do dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, dragons...ANYTHING!

Jessica posts alot of her figures on eBay. Her seller ID is ClayKeepsakes. Her email address is Claykeepsakes@yahoo.com. Just tell her Kinzi sent you!

It's a Scarecrow Festival!!!

Come visit the Shelter to Home booth at the Scarecrow Festival in Trenton! http://www.scarecrowfestival.net/
We will have animals there that are available for adoption. I know the weather is not supposed to be so great, but please come visit us and snuggle some of the cats! It's in downtown Trenton. There are some events Friday evening, but the cats won't be there. The vendors (and animals) will be there Saturday from 10-6 and Sunday from 11-5.
The proceeds from the festival benefit local charities, including Shelter to Home. There are alot of great vendors there so you could get a head start on your Christmas shopping!
Two of mom's favorite vendors will be there! Soy Creations candles. Mom claims they are the best smelling soy candles she's ever used! http://www.burnsoclean.com/ is the company website. The other vendor is Gertie Gear...a local company that makes pet beds from big tubes of air! You'll never have to buy another pet bed again because there's no foam in it to go flat over time. Check them out! http://www.gertiegear.com/
Mommy isn't going to take me because the weather is supposed to be so lousy...so I'm bummed I won't get to meet anybody...but she's taking my Sweetie, Herbie there, for sure!
Please go to the event and support Shelter to Home!
Thanks!

I'm such a show off!

Mom's friend, Lori, was over fixing Mom's computer. While she was here I got up and used my litterbox!! Now mommy says I'm a show off cuz I only use it when there are witnesses, and that when it's just me and Mommy, I'm a slob.
What can I say? I love attention! I want to be a STAR!
Let's take a vote...I love this picture of me...should I change it so that it's the picture you see
all the time when you first log into my blog? What kind of pictures of me would you like to see?

Meet my neighbors!

May as well introduce you to my neighbors, Alvin and Lehana. (Isn't Alvin adorable?...he kinda looks like me!) They are rescued bunnies. Did you know that bunnies are the 3rd most surrendered animal to shelters after cats and dogs? It's true! Everyone loves bunnies when they are tiny and cute, but as soon as they hit bunny puberty, they go psycho and nobody wants them anymore. All you need to do is have them spayed or neutered and they'll go back to being your loving, snuggly friend again. These guys are pretty clean. They have a litterbox just like me! (they use theirs a little better than I use mine, tho) Some bunnies can be chewers and get in trouble with electrical wires or wood furniture, but Alvin and Lehana don't chew on anything but their hay. Daddy built the pen they live in, too. It's made of wood so it's a good thing they aren't chewers!

Alvin was adopted from a rescue in western Michigan called Twisted Oaks. He's about 6 1/2 years old now. Mommy has a friend who had a lop bunny like Alvin that lived to be 14! Lehana was adopted from Midwest Rabbit Rescue and Rehome out of Plymouth, Michigan. She was one of Mom's foster bunnies but when Alvin and Lehana fell in love, Mommy couldn't bear to break them up so she adopted her. They snuggle all the time! I wish my Herbie would come snuggle with me like that.

If you'd like to learn about pet bunnies, a good website is http://www.rabbit.org/. If you'd like to visit the Midwest Rabbit Rescue site to see what bunnies are available in southeast Michigan, it's http://www.rabbitrr.org/. Another great rescue group in southeast Michigan is Tiny Paws. They have alot of bunnies, but also hamsters, mice, gerbils, and guinea pigs! Mommy has adopted from them quite a few times over the years. They also have a website- http://www.tinypaws.org/.

Thanks for reading about my new friends!

Home sweet home!

Well, here it is! My new dog-free luxury kitty condo. I hate it. I want to be back upstairs with everyone else...enjoying the fresh air from the open windows...not down here! As you can see, the wall is kind of high so hopefully the dogs won't manage to get in here. Wouldn't put it past them to push the chair from the computer desk over here and use it to climb in...but we'll see if they're smart enough to figure that out.

I have 2 bunny neighbors. They're quiet, but I don't think the boy bunny is too thrilled that someone moved into his area. There's a tiny door where the bunnies can come and go from my area. (I'm hoping Herbie figures out he'll fit through it, too!) They usually have free run of the house except after they've been fed because, as you've probably guessed, the beagles steal their food, too! The bunnies and I are trying to get a petition started to just get rid of the dogs cuz then none of us would have to ever be locked up.

There's more big news today! I actually got up and walked to my litterbox and used it! Mommy and Daddy were watching TV in the living room and when I got up and headed towards it, Mommy got all excited and was making funny noises. All I did was pee for crying out loud...didn't think it was such a big deal. I'm just trying to prove to Mommy that I don't have to live in the basement. I want to be a good girl so I can keep playing upstairs...and not have to get so many baths!
I gotta go have supper now.

What am I supposed to do with this stuff?

Saturday is the big day. Mommy and Daddy are building my new prison in the basement. I certainly hope they don't expect me to help...cuz I can't use any of this stuff...I don't have any thumbs!

Guess I'll just sit back and supervise...make sure none of the dogs get hit on the head with a hammer or anything. I know where Mommy keeps the band-aids, tho...just in case.

Stay tuned for Saturdays post of the finished product!

I swear, Shelter to Home volunteers are coming out of the woodwork just to help give me a bath! Remember Brenda, Mom's friend who helped with a bath a while ago? This time it was her son, Nathan. Personally, I think he needed a bath worse than I did! When his feet where in the tub with me, more dirt was coming off his stinky toes than was coming off me! I don't see anyone pinning him down and scrubbing him like they should be!

This picture is me getting blow-dried after my bath. I don't mind it too much.

I guess last night Mommy and her friends went to Pottery Creations in Wyandotte to paint pottery. Mommy says she painted me my very own food dish! I can't wait to see it!!! I bet food tastes even better when it's served in a special bowl!

As for me...I'm moving around alot better. Mom leaves me out on the floor most of the day when she's home and I've been good and haven't gone potty on the floor. I heard her talk about building me a special pen in the basement that's beagle-proof. I think that is next weekends project. Oh boy!

Caught in the act!!!

FINALLY!!! Mom used her phone to quickly snap this photo of my sweetie giving me a kiss just before I left for the vet last night. I TOLD you he liked me!

Dr. Dickie isn't sure why I'm still not walking very much. I now have to take glucocosomine and some other big word supplements and she's going to do research and call Mommy about it later. I did walk a bit more last night so I'm getting there...it's just so easy to lay here all day when Mommy is serving me my food and keeping me clean...why should I bother to get up when I have such an attentive maid taking care of me? haha

Rub-a-dub-dub...3 ladies in a tub!

You guessed it...tonight I was forced to endure yet another bath. Mommy's Aunt Sharon, who had come over to visit once before and did nothing but love on me...tricked me this time! She was responsible for pinning me down while Mommy scrubbed...and then she pinned me down again when I had to get blow dried. I showed my teeth and snarled a few times but apparently nobody takes me seriously around here.

Oh well...I smell fresh as a baby's bottom...for NOW!

Ohhhhhhhhh...and then right while I was getting blow dried, my sweetie, Herbie, came to see me and gave me a KISS! I can't believe Mommy didn't have the camera ready for that! I could have framed it and put it next to my bed so I could see it all day long. *Sigh*

Yo Home-followers, check out my crib!

Yup, that's me, shamed and humiliated to be quarantined to a baby play pen. Remember Kathy, one of mom's friends who helped pin me down for a bath previously? Well, apparently she's also responsible for this contraption. One side has big holes in the mesh but mom says it works perfectly cuz she can still plug in the vacuum without having to move me. WHATEVER!! Mom says when I'm done going potty all over myself then maybe I can get a fancier set up. I guess that's something to shoot for, eh? This thing isn't all bad tho...it's totally beagle-proof! I can eat my dinner at my own pace without worrying it will be inhaled in one gulp by a pesky dog.

I walked a few steps last night. (Actually...I ran like the wind when Mommy brought this pen into the room). I hid behind a chair and Mom had to move the chair to get me out. May as well make her work a little, right? This morning I wanted Mommy to scratch me so I walked about 4 steps and plopped down on her feet. It worked...she's a total sucker for my cuteness.

I get to roll around on the floor on a blanket when Mom is home...but when she's at work I get stuck in the pen like a big baby. Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Ooohhh! Mommy has the brush out...gotta go get me some good scratchin'!
