You don't know me very well...

Mary...let me tell you the facts...(as relayed to me by Mommy). While it is a well known fact that I am quite beautiful, Mommy says that I also have a tendency to be quite stinky. When I'm having a bad day...Mommy knows I've entered the room and am laying at her feet before she even looks down. I guess that's pretty bad, huh?

Mommy says on some show called Friends that there was a song called Smelly Cat. She thinks they were singing that about me! I think I'm offended by that!!!!!! There are probably other songs out there about me...like "Fat Bottom Girls"..."Baby got Back"...and who knows how many others.

I really need to work on the stinky thing. Mommy promised me a brand new bed as soon as I stop being stinky...that's great motivation cuz right now I'm stuck sleeping on an old, cruddy dog bed. I'm a Princess! I deserve better!!!

We're going green!!!

This weekend Shelter to Home will be set up at the Green Street fair in Plymouth. It's an event that encourages recycling and helping the environment...so what better place to adopt a recycled pet, right??

Here's the link that will tell you more about it, in case you're willing to brave the elements and come see us there!

www.Greenstreetfair.com

Mommy is taking Honey, Jillian, George, and Beauregard. I won't be going...cuz I'm made of sugar and spice and everything nice and I might melt if it rains! Sure, that might be a way to rid myself of a few pounds, but I'm not taking the risk! I have to be available for the book fair event next week! I'll tell you more about that later! Yes...I'm making another public appearance! Hopefully there won't be a riot when too many of my fans show up!

OK...we did it...keep your fingers crossed!

The snow shovel is back in the garage. Winston, you better be right that it's safe to put it away!!!

As for food...Mommy has reduced the amount I'm allowed to have. I used to get a whole can for dinner but now she gives part of MY dinner to George! He weighs as much as I do...how does he deserve part of my dinner??? Somethin' aint right about that!!!

...there goes another one!

Buster, the 15 year old orange kitty, has been adopted! His new brother is a 17 yr old gray tabby. (I bet he's cute, too!) It's so nice that someone was willing to give a good home to such an old cat. He was a good one....probably a little too old for a gal like me, anyway.

So...wonder if Mommy will go cat shopping this week to get me a new man?!?!?!?

Kim went home today. She and Mommy did alot of shopping...but did I get a new bowl? NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! All I got were a few cans of food. Hmmph!

Mommy had a fun day!

Mommy's friend, Linda, just bought this car. Mommy has had an unnatural obsession with Dodge Chargers since they first came out..and white is her favorite color. Today they went out for lunch and Linda let Mommy drive! Mommy says this car is the cure for a mid-life crisis but she'll have to live vicariously through Linda since Mommy has to have a vehicle she can cram all us furry kids into and a sports car isn't built for the job. Mommy also says she likes the "no car payment and cheap insurance" option that comes along with her van, too.

Mommy's friend Kim should arrive any minute so I better go and make sure I'm looking my cutest when she walks in the door. I'm gonna have to compete with those darn beagles to get any lovies.

Just another day...

Nothing exciting going on around here. No new sexy boy kitties in a while...I've just about given up. Mommy hasn't even gone to the shelter in a while....she says she doesn't want to be tempted. I told her to let ME go...but she says I'm too short to drive the van. Humph!

Mommy's friend, Kim, is coming for the weekend. She's allergic to cats, but she's addicted to beagles so she puts up with it to stay here. She might be in trouble if Buster or Beauregard try to sleep on her head like they do Mommy! Maybe the beagles will all pile in bed with her and there won't be any room for cats.

Mommy told me that on her way home from her weekend away that she had to stop at the Memphis airport. She said there's a gift shop of nothing but Elvis stuff. Mommy doesn't like Elvis...but she loves me enough to have gone in there to see if there was anything that could work as a new food bowl for my collection. She said she saw one that had fake jewels glued on it but when she picked it up, it was $75!!!!!!!! After she carefully set it down and picked her jaw up off the floor, she got the heck out of there. So, no new bowl for me in quite a while. Won't someone drag Mommy to the paint your own pottery store so I can get a new bowl????????????

Who's in charge around here??

Mommy went away for the weekend and left her friend Jessica here to baby-sit us. Honey is getting lots of snuggles...and Jessica woke up this morning with Beauregard sleeping on her neck...so basically things are running just like when Mommy is here. I guess that's what makes Jessica the perfect baby-sitter!...none of us even notice Mommy is gone! Meals are served on time and everyone gets lots of loving! Oh...and Mommy managed to get my computer fixed for me before she left for the weekend...THANK GOD!

So is it spring? or Summer...or is this a joke?

I'd like to talk to that crazy Mother Nature. Clearly she's been hittin' the bottle or something...cuz one day we are all freezing, then Mommy has all the windows open and she's cutting the grass...then the house is all closed up and Mommy's wearing a coat. How the heck can anyone keep up with all these temperature changes???? Mommy got the pond all cleaned out and got the filter running a couple weeks ago because it was so warm...then it got so cold she turned it off...now it's hot again. I bet those fish are wondering what the heck is going on, too!

Mommy still has the snow shovel sitting by the back door. She says having it there is like wearing garlic around your neck to keep vampires away. She says soon as you put the snow shovel away in April...ya get snow. Seriously tho...someone needs to send some chocolate and wine to Mother Nature so she stops this nonsense!

Oh....by the way, Honey is doing great after her surgery. Mommy gave up on the cone-collar cuz she knows how to bust out of it, and she gave up on the crate cuz Honey barks less if she's not in there. So now I have one more dog I have to hide from. Honey is nice tho...so far she hasn't tried to steal my dinner or break into my room.

I got more mail...there's this nice guy named Jeff who donates alot of money to Shelter to Home and this month he sent a little extra just for me! I'm very popular lately! Makes me wonder if my name is on a bathroom wall somewhere...? Hmmmmm

Where are all these lumpy dogs coming from?

First Wishbone, then Kippie...and now poor Honey! Yesterday Honey had 3 mammary tumors, and one unknown tumor removed. She also got spayed! Poor kid looks like Franken-beagle! The vet says that she got the mammary tumors because her family never spayed her. What a shame. Right now poor Honey is in a crate with one of those ridiculous cone collars on her head. She is NOT a happy camper.

Mommy sure is glad that Shelter to Home has the resources to be able to pay for the surgeries on all these lumpy dogs that Mommy keeps finding. It's because of all the great people who make regular donations! So thanks to everyone!!

By the way...the *#^%#^*#)$(*#$ computer is going back to the shop today. Mommy says it's ok for me to use that kind of language because she's really mad about it! So anyway...may be a few days before there's another posting...ho hum...

Woo Hoo....I'm rich!

Ok...I'm not THAT rich...but apparently somewhere out there I have a friend named Ramona and she sent me money! It's always nice to get money, but it's even nicer when you get it from friends you've never even met! Thank you, Ramona!!!

Love,

Kinzi

PS...Ramona, Mommy brings home nice boys all the time...but you know how men are...not all of them appreciate big boned girls like me. Someday I will find the man of my dreams, heck... he may even be a human or a dog! I don't care...as long as he loves me for who I am!

What? ..an Island? I don't see any water....

Mommy claims this thing is called an island. She bought it just for me, so I'm not about to argue with her. She got it from some guy named Craig who apparently has a list. Mommy has all sorts of lists...they're on the fridge, stuck to the wall, in her purse...so I don't see what makes this Craig guy so special. Anyway...that lovely green basket that says "love" on it...do you know what's in there??? My bowl collection! I have so many that Mommy said she was losing her mind because the dish drainer was never empty...so now all my bowls live in the basket and everyone's medications live in the drawer. I've never seen anyone so excited over something called "counter space" in my life...sheesh!

...as for the fuzzy orange guy on the lower shelf...that's Elliott. He's not a foster cat, even tho there are days Mommy would gladly give him to anyone who'd take him! He hates to be held or brushed and he's the reason Mommy boycotts all long hair cats!

Does this look like a sexy boy kitty to you???

I didn't think so!!!!!!!! Gotta admit, tho...she's a pretty nice dog. She's got a Basset Hound body and a beagle head. Her name is Honey. She's had a rough go of it...apparently the people who turned her into the pound had 7 other dogs who used to beat up on poor Honey. I guess their logic was give up the nice dog and keep the 7 mean ones? Anyway...their loss is our gain because she's a gem!

She does have alot of missing fur and scars on her backside, apparently where other dogs bit her, and she's got some nasty gashes/scabs on her chest. Even after going through all that, she's friendly and loves the other dogs here. Her belly is pretty saggy so it's obvious she's had a few litters of pups. I'm sure Shelter to Home will get her fixed up and shipped off to a new home soon! Maybe THEN we can get some more sexy boy cats!

Dear Winston...

I'm sorry you're having knee trouble. It's definitely a risk for we hefty folk. I'm not sure I'd like green beans much, either... I'm still trying to figure out how to dial Mommy's phone with the tiny numbers...but if I figure it out, I can order a pizza for you!

Be a good boy and rest up, take your pain meds, and just be grateful your Mommy and Daddy paid the big bucks for that surgery and didn't give up on you cuz you're an old geezer!! You've got some dandy parents, for sure!!! Do what your mommy tells you to do!

Holy Remodeling Project, Batman!

Today some lady drove her car right through the wall at the Wyandotte pound! Two cats got tumbled around and their cages were crushed, but they were not injured. Nobody can figure out why they weren't...cuz if you could see the cages you wouldn't believe it. The new floor at the pound got ruined and will have to be re-done, and the washer and dryer got smashed up, so they will need new ones. Lots of the good cages got damaged, too. What a shame. It broke the garage door and took out a few feet of the cinder block wall, too! I don't know what she was thinking...maybe she thought it was a drive thru pound and rather than use the front door, you just plow through to get what you want.

Mommy and I are very glad none of our friends at the shelter were hurt!

Mommy pulled a fast one on me!!!!

Here I thought she was being sweet by bringing home Beauregard, but she was really just distracting me so she could slip Herbie out of the house without me knowing! Yes...my beloved Herbie has been adopted. Sure, it's to a great home and I should be happy blah blah blah...but I still reserve the right to cry into my food bowl for weeks to come.

As for Mommy...who was just as in love with Herbie as I was...she hasn't cried yet that I have seen, but it's been a busy weekend around here. She did say that Beauregard and Buster have done a good job of taking Herbie's place in the bed at night...but I know she misses him.

So...if Mommy can find a good home for a cat who only pees on puppy pee pads...then I hope she can find a home for me when I'm ready to move out.

Hey, since I'm heartbroken...would some bring me a pint of Ben and Jerry's Chunky Monkey ice cream? Isn't that what girls do in times like this?

It must be an April Fool's joke...

There just can't be 2 cats in the world as stunning as I am...but...who's this guy??? He's got my googley eyes...and the same nose smudge...and the same shiny fur...He's one lucky boy to be as sexy as me! Mommy assures me that he's not a figment of my imagination. His name is Beauregard but Mommy's been calling him Bowie. I don't think he cares tho, cuz he only comes when she yells "here Kitty Kitty..."

By the way...still no computer but it looks like that new laptop is on the way!
