We need paws crossed!

Remember when I lived in the basement and I had bunny neighbors, Lehana and Alvin? Well, I'm sure you remember that Alvin passed away over the summer, so Lehana has been living alone all the time. Mommy has put the word out to her bunny rescue friends that she's looking for a nice, older gentleman for Lehana. About 2 weeks ago someone turned in a sexy 8 yr old male so Lehana was supposed to have a date with him this week. Sadly, Lehana has become ill and stopped eating. Mommy took her to the vet last Wednesday and since then she's been getting sub-Q fluids and being force fed. She has 2 problems...the obvious one is points on her teeth and she'll have to be sedated so those can be filed off. They make it painful to eat so she's only eating her soft veggies. When she was X-rayed...a second problem showed up. She's got a bladder full of sludge and crystals, similar to what a cat gets. All the extra fluids are supposed to be flushing her bladder out, but it's not a guaranteed fix and will be a big problem in the future if we can't clean out her bladder.

Lehana goes to the vet tomorrow for her surgery. The vet will file her teeth and hopefully have some success at flushing out her bladder while she's knocked out. We are all hoping it works, because Lehana needs a husbun! It's taken a long time for an older bunny to become available...and since Lehana is a bunny, and not a cougar, that's important! tee hee
