Happy Thanksgiving!
Since today is the day we're supposed to say what we're thankful for...here's my list:
1. That my daddy got a job in Michigan and was able to move back home.
2. That Mommy has done a good job of starving me so that I could lose a few pounds.
3. That Mommy has been able to refrain from having a nervous breakdown from all her beloved Colts being injured. Her fantasy team is a disaster but she's managing to keep her sanity...for now.
4. That Mommy found great people to adopt some of my friends...like Buster, Starsky, Honey, George, Casey, and my beloved Herbie.
And most of all, I'm thankful for Shelter to Home cuz without them, none of us would be here while we wait for our forever homes.
I gotta go watch football now...

I think Santa is gonna skip our house this year.
I say it's a good thing Daddy made a chocolate run at half time when things weren't looking so good...cuz without that sugar buzz for Mommy, who knows what would have happened when they lost.
Mommy says this just adds one more reason to the long list of why she hates Tom Brady. I need to go lay down now and sing some happy songs to myself to try to get all the bad words I heard today out of my mind. ...and Santa...if you're listening...just remember it wasn't ME who was saying any of that stuff...honest! I think it's Peyton Manning's house you need to skip, not ours!

I probably could lay down and spell a "C" like this cat did, tho...does that count as a workout??

Are you doing your Friday happy dance yet?
Buddy finally came out from under Mommy's bed. He still spends most of his time in there or in bed with Mommy...but we did spot him in the kitchen at 3am so he's getting better. He sure is handsome...but Mommy says she still loves me the bestest! :o)

Please keep your fingers crossed that the Colts do well and nobody else gets injured. Mommy's Indiana informant is teasing her that 2 of the injured guys might play this weekend..but we'll believe it when we see it. Winston...you know anything???

Boy...I didn't see that coming!
Once we got there, a very nice lady named Linda (who has a weakness for beautiful black and white cats like me) gave me special lovies and then put me on a scale that said I weigh 17 pounds. That's my lowest ever! Mommy weighed me last week on her scale and it said 17.6. (For the record, for the extra .6 I would prefer to be weighed at home from now on, thank you!) So after the weigh in and the special lovies, Dr. Lapshan came in and checked every inch of me. It was like going through security at the airport! Then he stuck a cold little stick in my keister! Mommy tried to distract me with a treat but who can eat at a time like that??? Sheesh!
My ears were a little dirty. Mommy said she spends so much time keeping my other end clean she must not have noticed my ears. My heart is fine and my big, googly eyes are fine, too. I didn't have to have anything shaved or washed, which was a refreshing change from previous visits. I did get poked for my rabies shot, tho. I know I've said it before, but I'm going to say it again...what are the odds that a rabid squirrel, raccoon, or vampire bat will break into our house and bite me? I'm more likely to get the bird flu if that crazy Frankie snaps at me! Where's my vaccine for THAT?
Dr. Lapshan was happy to hear that I've taken up residence on Mommy's lap now that Quincy is gone. We need to make sure that Mommy stays nice and warm and knows how much we love her...even tho she makes us get things shoved where the sun don't shine and have shots. As much as I complain, I really am glad she keeps my keister clean!

Well..we were TOLD that Buddy is here...
Anyway...we'll tell you more about Buddy once we actually get to know him. How's he gonna fall madly in love with me if he never comes upstairs to see me!? Sheesh!

It's about #(%)#( time!!!
His name is Buddy and he's a 7 year old 4 paw declawed big squishy boy. He's checking out the basement right now but I'm sure he'll soon discover my bedroom! I better go tidy up in there or he'll think I'm a slob.

Special thanks to Alyssa from the Wyandotte pound who had sense enough to send Mommy a text when she saw my handsome new man at another shelter. She pulled him and had him vetted so Mommy wouldn't have to do it.

We have a winner!
Mommy has been calling the bird her "little green monster"...and Mommy's favorite real green monster is Herman Munster...who is technically Frankenstein...so the bird is named Frankie. Ya...I know...her method for picking names is somewhat skewed. It's a miracle I ended up with such a cool name!
I tried to get Frankie to play with me and my catnip toys, but he was more interested in splashing in his dish of water and then shaking water all over me.

What's so funny???
Last time we had one of these it was very funny and everyone had a good time. What's even better is that this time the smoking ban is in effect so non-smokers don't have to choke while they enjoy the show.
Please, Please PLEEEEEZZZZ tell your friends and co-workers about it and see if you can help us sell some tickets. It's events like this that help Shelter to Home raise the money needed to be able to provide the special care that animals like me need.
